Hello ...... My name is Yvonne Martinez
I was born in the quaint city of Port Hueneme, Ca. A beautiful small town off the Pacific Coast. I have been fortunate to have lived all of my life in the city of Oxnard, which is also a neighboring city of the Pacific Coast. My education began at Ramona Elementary, followed by Fremont Junior High, and graduating from Oxnard High School. My first job after high school was working for a local income tax office where I learned to prepare income taxes for individuals. My jobs have ranged from income tax preparer, customer service rep., auto/home and life insurance rep., administrative assistant, biller, and pharmacy technician. My life has been blessed by being married to my wonderful husband for over 23 years and by giving birth to my children whom I adore unconditionally.
Currently, I am in a place in my life, where I can enjoy the independence of my children and spend time with my husband whom is very supportive of my goals. The job that I currently have as a pharmacy technician is very rewarding to me. I have been fortunate to have been working for one of themost prestigious hospitals in Ventura County for over 13 years. My job gives me the ability to help others that are ill as well as helping my co-workers with their job duties. We are a family in my pharmacy department and enjoy working with one another. My job has given me a better understanding of why I have chosen a new career path to further help our community and is the reason for taking this course to get to my goal.
My future consists of one day becoming a registered nurse. I wish to pursue a dream that I have always known I was destined to become. My knowlege has brought me to understand that I should be in a field where I can help heal the sick, comfort the dying, and give knowledge to prevent illness. I also would like my children to recognize me as an achiever and role model. I want to be the foundation for my children to believe in themselves and how they can become anyone they would like to be with hard work and preserverance.
